Heavy Model FW25 RW25 Reappointment Application
The Victorian Model Aeronautical Association (VMAA) has made the Heavy Model Inspector (HMI) reappointment process for FW25 and RW25 categories available online to streamline and modernize the system for members, while providing the most up to date information.
Reappointment as a HMI
Current HMIs who wish to continue in their role must demonstrate they are still capable, have sufficient time, and are willing to assist fellow members. The reappointment process is straight forward and can be completed using the designated online form below. Applicants must meet the requirements outlined in MOP006 – Appointment and Reappointment of Inspectors Procedure, which includes maintaining relevant experience and knowledge of MAAA safety standards.
Resigning as an HMI
If you are considering stepping down as an HMI, regardless of the reason—such as lack of time, waning interest, or changing circumstances—you can use the same form to formally resign. The process is simple, fill out the required details in the form below and add your signature. Your resignation will be automatically sent to the SHMI for processing and the VMAA website will be updated accordingly.
As a token of appreciation for your service, the VMAA will send you a certificate acknowledging your contribution to the sport.
Important Information

If you were appointed as an inspector on or after January 1, 2023, you do not need to reapply.

If it has been more than three years since your last appointment, you are required to submit a reappointment or resignation request.

Failure to respond by March 31, 2026, will result in removal from the VMAA database.
