Find a Radio Certification Expert in your area. Radio Certification
was introduced by M.A.A.A. in a attempt to improve safety. It is
Australia wide and recommended that Clubs adopt the program. Radio
Certification requires that the Transmitter and Receiver are tested by
an M.A.A.A. registered radio testing station.
After testing the tester attaches a sticker indicating the band width
that the units are operating to. The stickers indicate band width by
different colours and are also signed and dated by the tester. The cost
of the test is around $20 to $30 per set. The M.A.A.A. recommends that
radios are tested when new, when changing hands or when involved in a
crash or damaged. Clubs have differing requirements. Some require
yearly, some every two years and others three yearly. The choice it up
to the Clubs. It is recommended that you check with the Club you are
considering joining to ensure that your equipment conforms to their
requirements.
If you require your radio tested, contact a Testing Station to arrange for testing to be done.
